Another shot of Kinlet Hall and Rood Ashton Hall from last Saturday, ruuning tender-first to Bescot. Note the two different types of tender in use.

I hadnt noticed the tenders till you mentioned here acshully! Weird that or was it normal practice in the days of olde?

I'm not sure, but few steamers had permanently-coupled tenders so that they could be swapped about if required, due to required maintenance or differing coal and water capacities,,,
