Up The Junction '78

Almost 30 years ago if you were out with your camera at Ryecroft Junction here's the variety of traffic that could've been seen. These were all taken on the 27th February 1978 and are:-

1) 45060 Sherwood Forseter coming off the South Staffs line
2) 37168 powering away from Walsall
3) 25151 heading towards the Sutton Park line
4) 47165 on 0E46 heading out of Walsall

Photo's taken by D Jennings

Marvellous old stuff here, the view almost unrecognisable today due to tree growth/houses etc, and that 37 looks great !

The third photo (Class 25 on vans) clearly shows all four routes that split off from Ryecroft Junction.

The Birchills line, the Cannock line, The South Staffs line and the Sutton Park line which the train is on.

Superb photographs.Unrecognisable now due to the fact that two thirds of the railway at Ryecroft is missing.
The Wolverhampton (Birchills) line, the South Staffs line and the up & down slow lines between Ryecroft and Walsall station are gone, victims of misguided politics.

Again, great photos.

Lost for words. Just great shots. Full marks to DJ for taking them. He must have hundreds of beasts to drool over.
