End of the 'Coppice ?

Thanks to a tip-off from Josh I was able to get a snap of 37422 returning to Bescot just after midday with 4 empties from Birch Coppice. The train is seen here dropping down towards Rushall where there is currently a 20mph restriction.
According to rumours currently circulating the Birch Coppice trip finishes in a couple of weeks time, so get it while you can !

Is it finishing? A great shame if it is. G36/G42 has been one of the most entertaining trips in the last few years with the 56s and 37s. Apparently a 31 did it once but I have not been able to confirm this.

I would like to hear of a 31 doing it myself, but I am sure all the EWS 31s had been withdrawn before this service started.

31s and 08s did the Bloxwich Smelter run... and 37s a few times.

A 56 did the Bloxwich trip in the last few weeks of the EWS 56s life. As for the Birch Coppice, it seems that despite EWS making a real effort with G36/G42, yet again the lorry wins....
